Facilitator Training Program

Become a Wellness 2 Age Facilitator

Deliver an evidence-based healthy ageing program that supports older people to remain active, independent, and socially connected.

Why organisations are implementing Wellness 2 Age

Wellness 2 Age supports organisations to deliver a structured, evidence-based healthy ageing program while building workforce capability and improving participant outcomes.

Organisations benefit from:

  • Improved participant outcomes across mobility, cognition, confidence, and wellbeing
  • Increased staff capability and confidence
  • Access to outcome reporting and analytics through the online portal
  • Flexible activities adaptable across a wide range of abilities and settings
  • Alignment with healthy ageing and preventative care priorities
  • Enhanced reputation as an innovator in aged and community care

Who can be trained?

Training is available to:

  • Allied health professionals
  • Allied health assistants
  • Aged care support workers
  • Health promotion and wellbeing staff
  • Equivalent community and support workforce roles

To support program quality and participant safety, Wellness 2 Age requires allied health professional oversight of delivery. If you don’t have access to an allied health professional we have a list of individuals who are trained and may be able to provide remote oversight.

What is involved in the training?

Training is delivered remotely and combines self-paced learning with interactive live training to support practical implementation within real-world settings.

Part 1: Self-directed online modules

Approximately 2 hours

Participants complete four online modules covering:

  • Healthy ageing principles
  • Program background and evidence base
  • Dual-tasking concepts
  • Foundations of Wellness 2 Age delivery

Participants also complete a short online quiz prior to attending the live training session.

Part 2: Virtual live training session

Approximately 5 hours

The live training session provides practical guidance on:

  • Program structure and weekly delivery
  • Facilitating dual-task activities
  • Participant screening and outcome measures
  • Engaging participants in group settings
  • Program implementation strategies
  • Using the Wellness 2 Age online portal

What will staff gain?

Staff who complete the training will gain the knowledge and skills to:

  • Deliver evidence-based dual-task activities
  • Support physical, cognitive, and social wellbeing
  • Facilitate engaging and meaningful group sessions
  • Embed healthy ageing principles into practice
  • Collect and report participant outcome data

What resources are included?

Facilitators and organisations receive access to:

  • Facilitator handbooks
  • Participant handbooks
  • Weekly session plans and presentations
  • Demonstration videos
  • Outcome measurement tools
  • Online portal access and reporting tools

The online portal enables organisations to access participant outcome data, download reports, and generate participant certificates based on individual results.

Certification

Only staff who have successfully completed the training and certification process are eligible to deliver Wellness 2 Age.

Certification:

  • Is valid for five years
  • May contribute to continuing professional development requirements
  • Requires refresher training upon expiry

What is required to run the program?

Organisations delivering Wellness 2 Age require:

  • A suitable space for group sessions
  • Basic activity equipment
  • Laptop and presentation screen/projector access (or presentations can be printed)

A recommended equipment list is provided as part of the program resources.
